What video capture software to use on a slow comp?

I got a hauppauge tv tuner card installed in a very slow computer, 700 mhz p3, so i wanted to know if there was a software out there that would allow me to capture good quality video.

I tried the software that came with it but its made for p4, but i got a p3 desktop, so i need a program for a p3 700 mhz 512 ram
Well the software that came withit does record video but it is of very poor quality probably because of my speed, so i wanted to try another program

You can use VirtualDub as the capture software with the Huffyvideo codec. Both are free and fairly easy to use. The video codec uses lots of memory to capture the video. I suggest a m-jpeg codec like the Picvideo codec from Peagus Imaging. It compresses better than the Huffyvideo codec. It costs around $30 dollars. Both of these codecs dont use a whole lot o f processing power. I would not recommend using a mpg4 video codec because it uses lots of cpu power. Check these sites out:
